The value of family microclimate
Family microclimate is a specific atmosphere of relations among family members. Such notions as "problem-free family" and "problem family" characterize relations, which are established in these families and which determine their everyday life. Family microclimate is created mainly by spouses, though other family members, such as grandmothers and grandfathers, mothers-in-law and fathers-in-law also make their contribution to the atmosphere of the family. The main difficulty in family relations is the fact that each family member must learn to get along with their closest relatives. This is an absolutely new experience for any young person, because they have never had to change their habits before and have never had to get accustomed to other people's habits.
Family life implies the ability of married persons to find mutual understanding in all spheres of their life. These spheres include verbal communication, upbringing of their children, household and leisure activities, etc. The inability to find harmony in family life threatens reproaches, quarrels, etc. This in turn leads to cooling of family microclimate. Those families, where people fail to understand one another, where reproaches and humiliation predominate, are uncomfortable for all their members.
The crucial role for the maintenance of normal family microclimate is played by moral and psychological qualities of spouses. Such qualities as kindness, attention, tolerance and sympathy create favourable background for benevolent family relations. Haughtiness, malignance, intolerance and in difference, on the contrary, are reasons for various family conflicts. Each quarrel, even if it is very insignificant and short-length, leaves marks on people for all their lives. It is often very easy to start a quarrel, but it is very difficult to stop it. Family quarrels are battles where there are no winners, but only defeated ones.
Happy and successful family microclimate is formed in families, where there are no strict rules for each member, where creativity and mutual understanding predominate. From the view point of humane norms, equality of spouses, mutual respect, responsibility for the family are preferable and justified.
Family microclimate depends greatly from the general intellectual and cultural level of a person, his/her knowledge about life, ideas about beauty, kindness and interpersonal relationships. The basis for a happy family is tractability of spouses. This rule is always present in happy families. Benevolence and amicability in combination with comfort create a special atmosphere, which is the main characteristic feature of hearth. To create this atmosphere, joint efforts of the whole family are needed. Creation of a hearth is a hard mental and physical work.
